Papa Earl's Catchum
$8.99

Instructions:
Add 6-8 oz of water to the bag using the cup provided. Press out most of the air and reseal the bag. Mix thoroughly in the bag. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes to allow the grains to fully absorb the water. Knead the dough ball in your hands until it reaches a soft, moldable consistency.

Hooking Tips:
For pan-sized catfish, use a #8 or #6 treble hook. Mold a dough ball about the size of a marble, making sure it fully covers the hook. For White Amur or larger carp, use a #4 treble hook with a dough ball about the size of a quarter. On windy days use a slide sinker. Set your drag loose and don’t set your pole down.

Not for human consumption. Made in Texas.

A Texas Fishing Tradition

Papa Earl began making and selling his bait in the 1970s, earning a loyal following among anglers on Lake Conroe, Lake Somerville, and Lake Houston. We fished with it as kids off the banks of Lake Conroe in the 90s! Decades later, when we had the opportunity to preserve his original formula and introduce Papa Earl’s to a new generation, we couldn’t pass it up. Today, we’re proud to carry on his legacy and help families hook new memories and create their own fishing stories, one catch at a time. And yes, he STILL holds a state record on the Trinity river for grass Carp.

A newspaper article from The Courier, Conroe, dated October 9, 1985, discussing camping and fishing activities at League Line Marina and other locations, mentioning various types of fish caught using Papa Earl's Bait like catfish and white amur.
